Before lockdown, over 60 Ekin Road residents signed a petition to the Cambridgeshire County Council calling for Ekin Road to be resurfaced. The potholes in the road surface are a hazard and could cause damage to vehicles.

Abbey Labour Councillors now have good news about the campaign. The County Council have responded to the petition saying that:

  • The potholes at the junction entering Ekin Road will be repaired within the next 3 weeks
  • Ekin Road has been put forward for surface treatment
  • The footpaths on Ekin Road have also been put forward for resurfacing.

Key local activist, Alexandra Bulat says: “Thank you very much to everyone who signed our petition, we are very pleased that together, we’ve achieved a positive result for Ekin Road. We will continue to monitor the situation and push for the works to take place as soon as possible.”
