I’m Rosy Greenlees and I’ve lived in Cambridge 30 years. I am standing to be your councillor on 7 May to give back to my community. I am the former Director of the Crafts Council for which I received an OBE. I am committed to representing Romsey residents. I will work for the things that matter to you.
My priorities for Romsey are:
- Build strong communities. Tackle anti-social behaviour, reduce inequalities, champion local communities, build new community facilities and protect green spaces in Cambridge.
- Cambridge homes for Cambridge residents. Continue building a new generation of council homes, support residents in need with housing and tackle rough sleeping.
- Champion our diverse community in Romsey. Creating an equal, safe and green Romsey where all residents, local businesses and visitors feel welcomed and supported.
I have been working alongside Labour Councillors Beth Gardiner-Smith and Dinah Pounds for our community. We have secured improvements and a public art commission for Romsey Recreation Ground. We are working with the residents and lobbying the County Council to improve street safety for pedestrians and cyclists. We are retrofitting council homes to reduce the cost-of-living.
We know anti-social behaviour is a concern for residents in a number of areas in Romsey. This is unacceptable and we are working closely with the community police to tackle problem areas, and our Cambridge City Council team to address root causes.
Mill Road is the heart of our community. Our vision is to make it the best street for independent shops serving our local residents and visitors alike. Working with traders and local residents to enhance the streetscape, improve the environment, and make the street safe for everyone.
