The Labour-run City Council is proposing to build six new environmentally sustainable council houses on infill land at the former gardens of 129-131 Ditton Fields. The plans are still being worked on, but will include:

  • Two terraces of three properties with entrance via Ditton Walk. Four of the houses will be three-bed homes, with the remaining two properties containing two-beds
  • Green frontage with a single parking court to reduce impact on the highway
  • Cycle stores in easily accessible locations
  • Built to ‘Passivhaus’ standards – which can reduce energy consumption by as much as 80%

A planning application is likely to be submitted in March.
