I believe helping each other builds communities that are safer, healthier and more productive. I have worked full time since being elected in 2021 to fulfil my pledges to promote social progress, protect and enhance the environment and improve Council services. On 7 May I am re-standing to continue this work for Castle and for Cambridge.

My priorities for Castle:

  1. Build communities, not just homes. Tackle anti-social behaviour, reduce inequalities, champion local communities, build new community facilities and green spaces in Cambridge.
  2. Cambridge homes for Cambridge residents. Continue building a new generation of council homes, support residents in need with housing and tackle rough sleeping.
  3. Safer roads. Tackle speeding by continue lobbying for speed indicators, improve cycleways and pedestrian crossings and putting pressure on the Lib Dem County Council to fix our roads.

I share the passion of so many residents to do more on the environment. Among other things, I’ve been promoting the use of environmentally friendly materials in construction, worked with campaigners to protect the Adams Road Bird Sanctuary from harmful development and secured funds for environmental upgrades to Histon Road Recreation Ground & Ascension Burial Ground

Beyond representing the interests of Castle residents, my priorities as a Cabinet member is to balance the books and make every pound spent work harder for residents. After a £1m council grant to Greater Cambridge Impact, we have secured a further £5m to support work to prevent lifelong deprivation among vulnerable residents. By using our funds smarter, the Council powers new council house building and uses interests to improve frontline services. I want to continue this work to make our city and Castle fairer, greener and an even better place to live in.
