I’m Edwin Addo, and I have been living in Cambridge for the past 3 years after coming here to study at Anglia Ruskin University. I’m proud to stand for election in Market Ward in this May’s election. My goal is to champion our community, work closely with residents to understand the most important issues in the ward, and deliver for you.
My priorities for Market Ward area:
1. Build strong communities. Strengthening our community, protecting green spaces, tackling anti-social behaviour, and reducing inequalities by working closely with residents.
2. Homes for Cambridge residents. Continue to build a new generation of Council homes, support residents in need with housing and tackle rough sleeping.
3. Champion the repair of potholes in Cambridge by lobbying the Lib Dem led County Council, which oversees the current deplorable state of the roads. By tackling the problem of potholes, we protect drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians from accidents.
Market Ward is a wonderful community and, as such, needs strong representation to amplify residents’ voices – your views must be front and centre. The Labour led City Council has planted more than 4000 trees, and helped preserve our green spaces, and Cambridge is now ranked among the top
120 cities worldwide for environmental transparency and action.
Lib Dem County Councillors recently voted with the Tories and Reform to cut food vouchers in the school holidays for children entitled to free school meals. Labour Councillors are actively fighting for these vouchers to be reinstated. As your Councillor, I will work with you to address this and other local issues and secure upgrades that can benefit our local community and make Market Ward a better place to live.
